**THEY TOOK HER IN FOR SURGERY AT AROUND 5:05PM***
it is such a bittersweet time when your child has to go in for something like surgery. You know in your heart of hearts that it is for the best, but you hate to see them go through it. She had a bad night again last night. The Dr on T6 made notes on the computer system to the effect of 'severe reflux' 'not able to tolerate feeds' 'needs a lot of suctioning' He just solidified what we already knew that this surgery couldn't have come at a better time really. Dr. King, her surgeon, said she would be taken straight to the ICU for recovery and kept on a ventilator for 2-3 days afterward so she could rest and not have to work so hard. They will give her morphine during and after surgery to control her pain. Poor little baby! I pray for protection against infection, bleeding, pain and that her airway remains healthy.
